Guardians UPDATE and Next Project Plan UPDATE

GUARDIANS my animation in production is going great so far. However I have another change of plans for how the whole animation will play out. To keep things simple on my end, GUARDIANS will not be a full out story. Instead it will be presented in a music video-like way. A reason for this change is to keep production short as well as be creative in how I present the story. The other reason I want to keep production on GUARDIANS shorter is because I want to start on another project which will be much more long term......

Remember when I mentioned that I would be planning on doing a comic called Olragon Generations a couple of weeks ago? Well SCRATCH that because I am moving onto something new.....and BIGGER than the comic.

After watching Chris Elchesyn's GODZILLA X THE KAIJU KILLER on Youtube, it really brought back old memories of when I first stumbled upon the project and wanted to make a Godzilla fan film of my own....of course that never fully played out because I was too young at the time. Now however I feel I am ready....except I won't be making a Godzilla fan film....I intend to make an Olragon movie.

UPDATE Nov/03/09
I gave it some thought for the past 24 hours and I am debating whether to do the movie in animation or live action. What do you guys think?

awesome idea and for olragons sound try mixing real animal sounds but you will most likely discover it by doing something completely different e.g godzilla's roar origin

make up your mind already...
anyway, this sounds like a cool idea, just make sure you have alot of money to spare, because even a fan made film can cost alot, especailly if you doing your own orginal monster.

Yes I realize the cost of this project, that's why I tend to take several years on it so I can gradually build up the budget from working during the summer months. I plan to make the miniatures and other small props first then film their scenes before moving on and building the upper-body suits which may be at least a year or so apart.

Essentially I am taking tiny baby steps in accomplishing this project ;)

that's cool. that sounds i good plan. yeah, it would take a while to build the budget you need for the film project and years to all the stuff you need. best of luck with that. ;

whatever your strength is, if your good at animation, then do an animated one, if your good at film production and editing then go live action with it.

Animated Monster sequences, live-action human portions. Or vice-versa.

Highly unorthodox for sure. But, it allows your strengths to shine solid and keep your budgets and production times short. Plus, with the right eye for style, you can seamlessly mesh the two together (although you may need to get a little "artsy").

While full live-action kaiju film projects are great and all, they're generally impractical if you're not willing to lovingly embrace the cheesiness and the "Fakeness" into your film aesthetic (from what I've seen of Olragon, you're going for a more Gamera Trilogy style, as opposed to Kaiju Big Battel)

Those are my two cents anyways. Regardless, good luck!
