First off, I am now starting to work contest prizes for the Olragon Revamped contest and should be up by next week, but right now, I am working on the rough character designs for
Olragon Generations. When I put them up they'll still be black and white for I just don't want to deal with coloring them at the moment. Before then however, I feel that I will shed some light on the character backgrounds - new and old. Characters such as David Harris who appeared in the novel will still have the same ambition, but a different motivator. Anyways here are some information on the main characters in the series:
*David Harris
He is our main protagonist in OG. In the beginning, David became fairly interested in the rising field of kaijuology (the study of monsters) however when no college would accept him based on the fact that kaijuology is not an official major internationally, he opted to skip college and pursue his dream by forming a small amateur monster chasing team called SOUL (The Search Of Unknown Life-forms). Joined by his friends Andrew Larsen and Elisa Livingston, the three travel all around the globe to study giant monsters and at times getting very close for behavioral observations as well as top notch photography. However David's main interest lies in a newly discovered ruin where the presumed skeletons of "Ancient Kaiju" rest. He published a book titled
Monsters of the Ancients which did not interest even the highest ranking kaijuologists and subjecting him to mockery. However he was then approached by an old family friend of his and one of AMMO's leading bioloists - Dr. Franklin Peters who explains to David that he's not wrong and that there is something he needs to show him...
*Andrew Larsen
He and David first met during their junior year at High School. They've remained friends since and shared a common interest in kaijuology. While interviewing for colleges, Andrew was not accepted to neither based on that his grades haven't been the best and kaijuology isn't an official major. When he and David discussed this they soon concluded that in order to pursue kaijuology they must establish their own team. With the help of Andrew's girlfriend Elisa in financial aid, SOUL was established. While not the most equipped team, SOUL manages as they travel the globe seeking giant monsters. Andrew is the one who notifies David of the Ancient Kaiju Tomb on one of the Indonesian Islands.
*Elisa Livingston
Elisa came from a wealthy family and she is Andrew's girlfriend and a friend to David's. Without her, SOUL would not exist for she provided fincancial aid to David at the behast of Andrew. Elisa and David didn't meet until their senior year of High School before she started dating Andrew. Andrew had a major crush on her at the time but felt that a relationship now would lead to a hard break-up, but despite his hesitation, Andrew and Elisa got together anyway and remained a true happy couple. Elisa decided to accompany Andrew when he left with David due to the fact that she wanted to survey that none of her money goes to waste in this whole monster chase business. In the beginning she was against the field of kaijuology, but after seeing the dedication that David and Andrew put into it as well as the large amount of data they recieved, she started to respect the field.
*Allison Peters
Allison was a love interest of David's from early on in high school (before he met Andrew and Elisa). He was living in Malaysia at the time and the two became good friends as did their families, but David felt more towards Allison than just friends. However based on David's father's job they would have to move every other year so a relationship would be difficult to handle within that short timeframe. Despite his strong feelings, David bottled them up and moved away a year later never admiting his secret love for her. Allison is a teenage latina-american girl who has a dream in becoming a musician. While guys try to flirt with her even when David is in front of her she is responsible enough to back away from a guy who isn't right for her. It is also assumed that she may have feelings for David as well after an unfortunate conflict at school where David was being taunted for being a "Monster Hugger" (much to the same degree as being a tree hugger). Allison was the only one who came to his aid when no one else did.
Anyways that is it for the main characters. Their designs will be up by later today or tomorrow.
